Whether You Like Or Not - Polarized Plugs
Have you ever had a problem getting an appliance plug to fit the wall outlet? There are currently three types of plugs which are used for standard 117-volt appliances. The two most common are the three prong (two flat prongs and one round prong), and the two prong plug where both prongs are the same size. The newest one, the one causing all the trouble, is the polarized plug. It also has two flat prongs, it will only go into a polarized outlet one way. It won't go into a non-polarized outlet at all.
