Workshop Storage

If you're having trouble deciding where and how you should store everything in your workshop, I have just the tips you're looking for.

To keep your chisels nice and sharp in storage, cut a slit in a tennis ball. Slip the chisel tip in there and you'll never have to worry about whether or not it is sharp when you need it.

Slip a toilet paper tube over extension cords before you hang them. They won't get tangled up. You could also try pony tail holders with the plastic balls on the end.

Slip sandpaper into an accordion file, and label the various grits on the tabs. They'll be nice and flat and organized when you need them.

Hang some inexpensive plastic gutter brackets up near the ceiling. It's a great place to store pieces of molding and trim. It will be out of the way and you won't have to worry about it getting damaged.

Make sure that you hang metal rulers when you put them away to ensure that they don't get bent.
