Sporting Ideas

If it seems like your family's sports stuff is always getting dirty or in the way, here are some easy tips to help you out!

Baseball caps get sweaty and dirty, but you can't throw them in the washer. Instead, stick them on the top rack of your dishwasher. They'll come out clean and in great shape!

New baseball gloves are always stiff, but you can use shaving cream to condition the leather. Just rub it in! Then, stick a ball in the center and rubberband the glove. The shaving cream softens it up, and the glove forms around the ball so it's ready for the next game!

To clean all kinds of sports balls, put them in 4 cups of water mixed with 1 cup of ammonia. Soak them outside to avoid the fumes.

If you have stains on the rubber soles on your sneakers just spray them with some laundry pre-wash spray, and scrub it with a toothbrush. The stains will come right off!

An easy way to store all of that sports equipment is to buy a bunch of inexpensive kitchen garbage pails. They hold balls, bats, sticks and gloves, plus they line up neatly in the garage or shed.
