Lighting

If you're looking for some easy ways to save money and fix lighting problems, I have just the tips for you.

Did you know the wattage on a bulb has nothing to do with the light it puts out, but rather with the electricity it needs to run? Check the light output instead. A 20 watt compact florescent bulb gives off the same light as a 75 watt incandescent bulb! The incandescent just costs more to use.

An easy way to change a lightbulb in your ceiling without climbing is to take an old lamp shade and remove the bulb clip from the inside. Tape that clip to your broom handle. Now you have an easy to use extension.

Make sure that when you're dusting your house you don't forget the lightbulbs. Dust on the bulbs can reduce the light by more than half!
