Doorstops

There are so many doorstops on the market do you know which one you need home, well, here are I have some pointers!

There are four kinds of basic doorstops, hinge, door, floor and wall mounted varieties, so take stock of your doors to figure out exactly what you need.

The majority of doors in a household will be served well by your basic wall mounted stop; it screws easily into a baseboard and protects the wall.

If you have doors that open into each other, you need a hinge mount stop. It installs directly on your door hinge and has two protective rubber stops. The hinge variety also works well if you have a door that doesn't come near a wall, and protect the hinges and the casings.

Floor mounted doorstops come in handy if your door opens into a space where you don't want it to swing too close to cabinetry or furniture, but the door doesn't come near a wall.

If you have a door that you like to keep open at times, try a flip down door-mounted stop. It folds up and out of the way when the door is closed and can be easily kicked into place to keep the door open.

If you have little ones in the house, pick up some pinch guard stops. They slip easily onto the door to protect little fingers!

Speaking of kids, doorstops with the little rubber tip can be a choking hazard, if you have little ones, look for an alternative variety!
