Reparing Screens

A tear in a window screen means easy access for household pests. Here's how you can fix those holes in a jiff.

Try to weave the screen back together with a long needle. Once you have everything back in place, paint both sides with a coat of clear nail polish, and let it dry well. If you don't have nail polish try rubber cement or model glue.

If the hole is too large to weave back together you can patch it. Cut another piece of screen about a half an inch longer than the hole. Unravel a few strands on each side. Bend the wires and insert the patch over the hole. Then use your needle to weave the wires into place.
