Laminate Hardwood Flooring

If you like a total makeover to your home, redesigning it includes tapping its flooring as one priority. There are many options available but if you want rich, elegant, and warm, natural tone for the interior, hardwood flooring seems to be the best choice.

It has been popular amongst the households for centuries primarily because of the tough quality which lasts along with the house or establishment, and the elegant touch it provides. Even today, it is still one of the most sought-after methods when it comes to flooring applications.

But as the technology gets higher and higher in terms of manufacturing techniques and processes, alternative to the hardwood flooring is currently in great demand. In replacement to the hardwood flooring, there are simulated ones introduced into the industry, which are better known and called as laminate hardwood flooring.

Since not all can actually afford highly-expensive hardwood flooring, laminate type is one of the most popular because of its features, except the quality aspect, being the same with the hard wood but less the high-cost. Durability does not match with the authentic hardwood flooring, but laminate hardwood flooring provides the same genuine rich, elegant, and warm effect to the appearance.

All laminate floorings undergo the same processes which include layering different materials to form the product. Layering of materials include the top layer which is coated and applied with melamine resins for glossy and attractive finish; the second layer is made of paper printed of the pattern and design for that authentic hardwood effect; the core layer which has the most durable fiber board is the strength of the flooring; and the bottom layer is the material which provides stability for the entire flooring.

Laminate hardwood flooring has two general classifications:

For business or commercial use – laminate hardwood flooring used on this classification includes types which can be used for the restaurants, public facilities, or government offices, hotels, conference centers, receptions rooms, and other sites which are normally where the crowd gathers; and

For home or residential use – obviously, the type of laminate hardwood flooring used is one that has enough quality and durability to endure only a minimal number of people. The type of laminate hardwood flooring on this classification can be used in rooms that are seldom occupied by people such as the bedroom. There is another type which can be used on more frequently used rooms such as the living room and dining room. The kitchen room of the house also has a specific type of laminate flooring that can be used.

What are the advantages of using laminate hardwood floorings?

Laminate hardwood flooring is easy to install. Basic tools, equipment and the right flooring type are what a do-it-yourselfer would need for the job. The job can be handled by just practically anyone, so it would be a waste of time and money to hire someone to do it.

The second advantage is installed laminate hardwood flooring gives the look of an authentic hardwood. A hardwood, when installed, provides rich, warm, and classic tone for the interior and you can also have this with simulate laminate flooring.

Of course, laminate hardwood flooring is budget-friendly. You don’t have to expect for the kind of quality and longevity that a real hardwood provides but this is one option most houses and business establishments are eyeing on, so why don’t go have one for you as well.
