Sliding Garage Doors

The most common thing that a sliding door is used is on garages. Sliding garage doors often come with an automatic trigger for convenience.

These automatic doors use and overhead type, they can operate with a flick of a button. A press and you can easily open them easily.

As with being a rule of the thumb, garage doors will follow the needs of its purpose.

Garage doors can be made from wood which provides the best look but it needs a good deal of maintenance. If you need to get a unique look, you can go for wooden type of garage doors.
Steel is the most common material used for sliding garage doors. It can be sturdy but it has greater probability to be burglarized with this type. They must be secured such as the frame and other entrances.
There are also glass reinforced plastic types of doors. They can mainly side-hung doors. They are the best value and come in different types of surfaces.

One of the advantages of having them is on a bad weather. You can easily open them without getting out of your car; you don’t need to get wet or even call for somebody inside your house to open them for you.

But with this great tool, there are also cons. The battery operated garage doors must be checked occasionally for smooth operation. On rare cases, if there is a relative nearness to other doors, your neighbors’ garage door might be activated too.

Also with long time usage, the doors might get stuck sometimes; this is also true to old cars having automatic window problems. It usually gets stuck and the rails don’t work correctly as they should. They can be easily opened again with helping them manually. But with this problem being a common one, there can be repaired easily by professionals or you can contact the manufacturer and you won’t spend anything as long as they are still covered by the warranty.

Garage doors that open automatically have some basic features. As with security, they have an auto stop feature so your car won’t get scratched during operation or to prevent your kids to get caught. There is usually a panic button to halt the operation to prevent it to forcibly close the door.

As with common sliding doors, there are also lateral sliding doors. That consist of panels which are joined together to run on a track located on its top. It is also guided by the bottom track which can be either being surface mounted or installed within the floor.

With being the first thought of a lateral sliding door, it doesn’t really loose the space on the building as the internal structure is also available to drive through; they are feasible for people who live on bordered public roads. The lowdowns of its specifications are:

Panels are usually 40mm thick with a double walled steel construction.
Filled with CFC foam as insulation and painted on the factory with different color selections.
The usual wooded door are of 16mm thick ; usually built of but not limited to Nordic Spruce timber and the base is coated already and gets another final coating of the client’s option.

Each sliding garage door is supposedly made to fit the client’s needs. As with people having multiple numbers of cars, they can vary also on its construction. But both types of doors have manual operation buttons or with remote and the option to have electrical operation.
